General Summary
The Cybersecurity Specialist will provide essential support in
identifying and resolving security threats and vulnerabilities.
This role will be a crucial role in managing key security reporting
systems, including patch, vulnerability, firewall, IDS, SIEM, NGAV,
EDR, Active Directory, Data Loss Prevention monitoring, and audit
log management programs. The Cybersecurity Specialist is
responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of
Information Technology compliance policies and procedures, ensuring
that existing and new systems adhere to the required standards. The
position will work with auditors to discuss our current environment
and assist with the development and execution of remediation plans.
Additionally, perform periodic audits of the IT environment to
ensure proper security measures are in place. The expertise will be
instrumental in maintaining a secure and compliant IT
environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities
- Investigate and respond to system alerts generated by firewall,
IDS/IPS, NGAV, IBM Managed SIEM, and Active Directory monitoring.
Collaborate with vendors to resolve security-related issues
promptly.
- Provide support for the implementation of Murata's various
security tools. Install and troubleshoot client agent installs,
review weekly and monthly agent status and scan reports, respond to
real-time alerts, and assist with documentation.
- Assist IT Teams in prioritizing vulnerability remediation and
deployment of patches to assets. Troubleshoot and resolve
deployment issues to ensure a secure IT environment.
- Assist in the implementation of Murata's security systems,
including the review of logs and reports from various tools such as
firewall, IDS/IPS, NGAV, EDR, SIEM, and event log monitoring.
- Schedule internal and external vulnerability scans and take
necessary actions for investigation and remediation efforts.
Document the findings and follow-up actions.
- Assist with the administration of security systems and asset
inventory tools. Collect and manage data and run reports as needed
to ensure compliance and security.
- Assist with the development and documentation of various IT
Security systems and procedures to ensure standardized and
effective practices.
- Provide IT security-related end-user support, addressing
queries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Perform periodic audits IT security systems to ensure proper
application of privileges and correct security configuration.
Miscellaneous Job Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science,
Information Technology, or related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience working with network management
tools with a focus on security systems.
- Experience with deployment, management and reporting of
compliance and security systems including network-based patch
management, firewall, IDS/IPS, vulnerability and security event log
management systems.
- Experience with Active directory and Windows server management
from a compliance and vulnerability management perspective.
- Experience supporting various Linux distributions and
MacOS.
- Experience with endpoint security tools such as anti-virus,
ITM, EDR and others.
- Analytical skills with proven problem-solving ability is a
must. Experience with threat hunting and/or anomaly investigations
is a plus.
- Understanding of PC and Local Area Network (LAN)
technologies.
- Ability to work with end users in applying security technology
to the work environment. Preferred Qualifications
- IT Security/Cybersecurity certification.
- Experience working with regulatory agencies and 3rd party
auditors is a plus.
- Experience in end-user support for Microsoft Office
applications is preferred.
- Demonstrated extensive organizational, communication and
interpersonal skills.
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work
independently and within a team.
- Identifies problems and solutions that others might miss;
provides detailed insight and constructive criticism into problems
and complex situations.
- Ability to take a vague concept and turn it into a design
specification with limited guidance.
