Ultrasound Tech Location: Waxahachie, TX Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,092 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 9 Weeks Start Date: 3/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Multispecialty Sonographer Profession: Multispecialty Sonographer Specialty: Multispecialty Sonographer Duration: 9 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RDMS Certifications: BLS (AHA Only) Must-Have: OB, AB, RVT Description: The Multispecialty Sonographer performs a combination of basic to advanced ultrasound services and procedures for patients. These procedures may include abdominal, obstetric/gynecological, cardiac, vascular, musculoskeletal, and small parts. This position examines the patient's clinical history to identify the purpose of the examination. The sonographer frames the clinical questions that the examination is intended to answer. The examination may be expanded as necessary to answer relevant clinical questions. The sonographer performs multiple specialty ultrasound procedures utilizing various equipment and techniques. They make the necessary measurements required for interpretation to yield accurate and high-quality results. The sonographer identifies and defines abnormalities specific to the procedure. They extend the scope of the examination appropriately and may deviate from standard techniques when necessary. They correlate other diagnostic test results with anatomy and function. Appropriate protection measures are utilized during procedures. The sonographer may assist in procedure rooms and operating rooms by performing ultrasound studies. These studies aid in proceeding with complex procedures to decrease risk factors. They prepare patients for procedures and obtain clinical history from them. This includes related physical findings and pertinent laboratory data to adapt imaging techniques. The goal is to obtain comprehensive and diagnostic exams to alleviate the probability of erroneous clinical interpretation. The sonographer explains the purpose of the ultrasound examination to the patient and answers any questions. Imaging team members adhere to policies, procedures, and workflows. These workflows include, but are not limited to PACS, EMR, image exchange systems, and record management. The sonographer records statistics and performs daily maintenance of the ultrasound laboratory and its equipment. All malfunctions of the equipment are reported as appropriate. The sonographer acts as a resource to team members and physicians regarding equipment, techniques, procedures, and studies. They work closely with ultrasound team members to ensure quality processes and adherence to protocols. The sonographer assists with unit and/or organization accreditation activities as delegated. They implement protocols as new technology evolves and ensure standards are adhered to. The sonographer verifies the operation of equipment by performing quality checks according to manufacturer recommendations. They troubleshoot equipment as necessary. Candidates must be familiar with approved clinical protocols for each type of ultrasound examination to be performed. They must meet all qualifications and requirements for any two of the following specialties: obstetric/gynecological, cardiac, vascular, musculoskeletal, or small parts. Knowledge and ability to apply complex sonographic principles, instrumentation, and techniques are required. Knowledge of relevant anatomy and physiology for each different specialty is essential. Candidates must be familiar with proper infection control and relevant laws regarding patient confidentiality and privacy. They must have the ability to interact and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with healthcare providers. Candidates should be skilled in utilizing computers and medical equipment. They should be able to serve as trainers, providing quality training to new team members. Availability for call duty may be required.
