Organization OverviewThe Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (CTHCC) is the leading advocate for Hispanicbusinesses, professionals, and entrepreneurs in Central Texas. With a rich legacy of fosteringeconomic growth and community empowerment, we serve as a vital connector betweenbusinesses, government agencies, and community organizations.Position Summary/ObjectiveThe President & CEO of the Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is responsible for thestrategic leadership, operational management, and financial sustainability of the organization.This role ensures the Chamber's mission to support and empower Hispanic businesses andentrepreneurs is effectively executed through advocacy, economic development, and communityengagement initiatives. The President & CEO serves as the Chamber's primary spokesperson, fostering strongrelationships with business leaders, government officials, and community stakeholders topromote economic growth and business success. Additionally, the President & CEO isresponsible for overseeing membership growth, financial resources and management, and thedevelopment of programs and services that enhance the value of the Chamber to its membersand the broader community.Required Education, Licenses, Certifications, and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5+ years in a senior leadership role, preferably in a chamber of commerce,nonprofit, or economic development organization.
  • Demonstrated success in securing corporate sponsorships, philanthropic funding, anddeveloping revenue-generating programs.
  • Strong understanding of business growth strategies, entrepreneurship, and access tocapital.
  • Deep-rooted or well-established relationships within Central Texas, with the ability tomobilize and inspire stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to craft and execute strategic initiatives that drive measurable growth andimpact.
  • Spanish proficiency is a plus to effectively engage with the Hispanic businesscommunity.
  • Valid Texas Drivers License.
  • Valid personal auto liability insurance.Work authorization/security clearance required:Must be eligible to work in the United States.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of small business development, economic development, andentrepreneurial ecosystems.
  • Understanding of fundraising strategies, including corporate sponsorships, grants, anddonor relations.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, organizational development, and operationalmanagement.
  • Proficient computer and typing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and other business-related software, electroniccommunication platforms, and applications.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal business policies and advocacy practices.
  • Knowledge of the Hispanic business community's unique challenges and opportunities.
  • Understanding of nonprofit governance, including board relations and compliance.
  • Strong leadership and executive management skills, with the ability to inspire andmotivate teams.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills, capable of serving as the primaryspokesperson.
  • Proven ability to cultivate relationships with diverse partners, including businesses,community leaders, and local officials.
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to align initiatives withorganizational goals.
  • Strong fundraising and revenue development skills.
  • Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple initiativessimultaneously.
  • Ability to build and maintain trust-based relationships with community partners.
  • Ability to advocate for policies and initiatives that promote small business growth andeconomic equity.
  • Capacity to engage and collaborate with diverse populations and promote inclusivity.
  • Ability to lead and mentor staff, fostering a culture of high performance and professionaldevelopment.
  • Ability to identify funding opportunities and secure financial support for the organization.
  • Adaptability to navigate a dynamic nonprofit environment with shifting priorities.
  • Ability to represent the Chamber with integrity, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Commitment to the Chamber's mission, vision, and values, with a passion for supportingHispanic business success.Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Executive Managementa. Serves as the face and voice of the Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber, advocating forpolicies that support small business growth and economic equity.b. Provides strategic leadership and oversight to ensure the Chamber's mission,vision, and goals are successfully executed.c. Inspires, develops, and leads a high-performing team to enhance membershipengagement, business programming, and community partnerships.d. Works closely with the Board of Directors to develop and implement short- andlong-term strategic initiatives that drive impact and sustainability.
  • Fund Development & Revenue Growtha. Spearheads fundraising initiatives, securing corporate sponsorships, grants, andstrategic partnerships that support the Chamber's growth and financial health.b. Cultivates relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, localgovernment, and philanthropic organizations, to attract investment in theChamber's mission.c. Oversees membership growth and retention strategies, ensuring the Chamberdelivers strong value to its members and community.
  • Small Business & Economic Developmenta. Develops and executes programs that support small business owners,entrepreneurs, and startups, providing mentorship, resources, and advocacy.b. Collaborates with economic development agencies, financial institutions, andpolicymakers to promote business-friendly policies and access to capital.c. Establishes partnerships with educational institutions to provide workforcedevelopment initiatives tailored to the Hispanic community.
  • Community Engagement & Stakeholder Relationsa. Fosters and maintains strong relationships with local businesses, civic leaders,community organizations, and government entities.b. Represents the Chamber at key events, media engagements, and businessforums, positioning it as the leading advocate for Hispanic business success inCentral Texas.c. Champions diversity, equity, and inclusion in business and community initiatives,ensuring the Chamber remains a trusted and inclusive resource.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and as needed to help drive our vision, fulfill ourmission, and abide by our organization's values.Physical and Mental Requirements and AbilitiesThe role of the President & CEO often requires the ability to work effectively in a moderate tofast-paced office environment. This environment typically involves frequent activities,interactions, and tasks that need to be completed within specified timeframes. Additionally,interruptions and unexpected events may occur, which can require flexibility and adaptabilitywhile maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor. Work schedule includes normaloffice hours 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and frequent evenings and weekends for chamber sponsoredevents and community events.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by thePresident & CEO to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employeefrequently sits and/or stands. The employee may occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel,crouch, crawl, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee will frequently use electronicdevices including but not limited to personal and laptop computers, printers, scanners, and othertypical office equipment. Frequent typing is required therefore, the employee will constantly usetheir fingers, hands, wrist, elbow, and any necessary upper extremities to do so. Employeesmay occasionally have to twist, pull, or stretch. The employee will frequently read material inprint or on the computer with various text sizes and colors. The employee will have to view andanalyze images, pictures, charts and graphics. Specific vision abilities required by this jobinclude close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and abilityto adjust focus with and or without use of prescribed or over the counter optical glasses, contactlenses, or other visual aids. The President & CEO will occasionally travel within and the citylimits and occasionally out of town work related trips.
